Why Should You Choose A REALTOR®?

People use the terms REALTOR® and real estate agent interchangeably, not knowing that
there are indeed differences. Although both are licensed to sell real estate, the basic
difference between the two is a REALTOR® is a member of the National Association of
REALTORS® and subscribes to the REALTOR®
Code of Ethics. What does that mean for
you? The Code of Ethics contains 17 Articles and various Standards of Practice that are
strictly enforced. REALTORs® are much more restricted and confined in their conduct
than those agents who simply hold a real estate license.

Here are some factors to consider when choosing your real estate professional:

  • Look for an agent who is familiar with the area you are interested in.

  • Ask the agent how much time they have to focus on your transaction.

  • Ask if they are available at night and on weekends.

  • Does the agent return your calls promptly? Time is money.

  • Choose an agent who listens attentively to your needs and concerns.

  • Pick an agent who you feel comfortable with.
