Why Should You Choose A REALTOR®?
People use the terms REALTOR® and real estate agent interchangeably, not knowing thatthere are indeed differences. Although both are licensed to sell real estate, the basic
difference between the two is a REALTOR® is a member of the National Association of
REALTORS® and subscribes to the REALTOR® Code of Ethics. What does that mean for
you? The Code of Ethics contains 17 Articles and various Standards of Practice that are
strictly enforced. REALTORs® are much more restricted and confined in their conduct
than those agents who simply hold a real estate license.
Here are some factors to consider when choosing your real estate professional:
Look for an agent who is familiar with the area you are interested in.
Ask the agent how much time they have to focus on your transaction.
Ask if they are available at night and on weekends.
Does the agent return your calls promptly? Time is money.
Choose an agent who listens attentively to your needs and concerns.
Pick an agent who you feel comfortable with.
